On Monday 22nd September Eproductive turns silver!

It’s 25 years since brothers Chris & Nick Cowls registered Eproductive Ltd with Companies House. Back then Phil Somerville was working on the Eproductive helpdesk, located on Platform 1 of Dorking station. 25 years later, he’s a friendly and familiar face known throughout charity retail, and despite 25 years of service, hasn’t turned silver.

2000

“Eproductive is a family firm that feels like family. Honesty and generosity are still qualities that count here, despite how businesses have changed. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else, except perhaps Hollywood.”

Phil Somerville, 2025

In contrast 23-year-old Tom Dennis, a member of our development team, wasn’t even born back in 2000:

“I only joined Eproductive this year but working in an IT department where the average age is about 27 is great. Everyone clearly enjoys it here and I can see why people would never want to leave!”

It started on Platform 1…

With Chris Cowls’ background in hospitality, (he’s currently Chair of the Hospitality Professionals Association), Eproductive started as a scheduling system for hotels working from an office on Platform 1 of Dorking station. When brother Nick, who’d worked for Cancer Research, had the idea of Gift Aiding shop donations the company quickly expanded into charity retail.

Today Eproductive has a head office in Camden but its helpdesk is still based at Dorking station. Eproductive’s scheduling system, EPS, has grown into a fully-fledged people management system in use by hundreds of sites across the UK and Ireland.

Eproductive prides itself on customer service and our clients have shared consistently positive feedback highlighting partnership, expertise, and exceptional service.

Valor Hospitality Partners are one of our oldest clients and their Employee Relations Manager for the UK & Europe, Richard Newbery, had this to say when he heard it was our silver anniversary:

“The relationship between EPS and Valor Hospitality is a long-standing and strong one. As the provider of a key employee resource and embedded at the heart of our other People & Culture systems, it’s been vital to us to have the confidence and security that EPS provides. From compliance to payroll reporting, helpdesk support to scheduling, new integrations to training, EPS have been alongside us every step of the way working with us to continuously develop and enhance a system that fits our needs.”

In contrast, Taplow House Hotel & Spa have only been with us for a few months but were very happy to give feedback about their impression so far:

“We’ve been using EPS for just over six months, and it’s already made a noticeable difference to our operations. The customer service has been consistently strong — from the initial meeting through to go-live. That kind of support is what helps a company stay successful for 25 years!”
